According to the data from the US National Fisheries Institute, currently the fourth favorite sea food for the Americans in Telapiae after shrimp, salmon and canned tuna. In the past few decades, Tilapia has been ranked as the leading marine food in the food list of several countries of the world including the United States. In Bangladesh the fish has become quite popular as a food.

In this research paper, a comparative picture of fatty acids is present in the body of the popular fish. It can be seen that tilapia fish have much lower omega-3 fatty acids compared to other popular sea fish in the country. It is rather omega-6 fatty acid. Which is a harmful acid (arachidonic acid).

But it is also the cause of diseases such as Alzheimers and brain inflammation. Podiatrists are not in favor of completely eliminating tilapia fish. Do not eat too much. Because tilapia fish also contain useful ingredients to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood.
